Los Prietos Boys Camp Closes after Eight Decades

The juvenile justice system is changing and the lower-level youth offenders are no longer being incarcerated as in the past. The population at the camp has dropped from around 30 in 2018 to only five in 2022 and 2023, resulting in an unsustainable situation. The Boys Camp was founded in 1944. The JUVY Project team offered an interactive weekly Bible study on Friday nights for 23 years. We are sad to see this closure, especially for the young men who are longing to change their lives.
