Los Prietos Boys Camp Closes after Eight Decades

The juvenile justice system is changing and the lower-level youth offenders are no longer being incarcerated as in the past. The population at the camp has dropped from around 30 in 2018 to only five in 2022 and 2023, resulting in an unsustainable situation. The Boys Camp was founded in 1944. The JUVY Project team offered an interactive weekly Bible study on Friday nights for 23 years. We are sad to see this closure, especially for the young men who are longing to change their lives. We are so thankful to the Lord for the tremendous opportunity and abundant fruit over the years. Santa Barbara County is going to use the camp for a Santa Barbara County fire training center in 2025.

Mary Ann and Carol

Mary Ann needed further treatment and is not currently teaching. She is responding well, and we are confident she will make a full recovery in Jesus Name!

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

The Widows and Orphans Ministry

We were asked if we could help an orphaned man in town who was living in a home that was going to be condemned. We were able to clean out his home and his property to get it ready for inspection.

Galatians 6:10 Carry one another’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the requirements of the law of Christ [that is, the law of Christian love].

The Monday Night Men’s Meeting

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens [and influences] another [through discussion].

The men’s group sharpens one another as we study the Word of God together talking about the things that are going on in each one of our lives. Drawing strength from the Word of God and from each other.

For I Can Do All Things Through Christ, Who Gives Me Strength!

On Good Friday, Mary Ann was informed that she would need further treatment and had to step down from her teaching position once again. She was enjoying teaching and preaching at Coastline Christian Academy and knows that this necessary treatment will once again be successful and completed soon. Mary Ann reassured the doctor that Good Friday was the best day to tell her because that’s what the Cross is all about. Jesus said, from the Cross, “It is finished” and He died for her healing which means, she’s already healed, but simply needs to go through the process of further refining. Mary Ann also told the doctor that there’s more good news! Resurrection Sunday is just two days away! Hallelujah!

Praise God We are Back at Los Prietos Boys Camp!

After three years of not having access to minister to the young men at the boys camp due to prolonged covid restrictions, we are celebrating our return this month. Praise God! Our weekly Bible study discussion group at Los Prietos Boys Camp has been reinstated. Thank You, Jesus! We are meeting on Thursday evenings after work. “So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ.” Colossians 1:28

Happy New Year! Mary Ann Back at Work

We are so happy to share with you our good news! Mary Ann is teaching kindergarten again at Coastline Christian Academy, which is her calling and passion, raising up 17 disciples in the ways of our Lord. To God be the Glory! Thank you for standing strong alongside us during fiery trials.

“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His Glory is revealed.” 1 Peter 4:12

Merry Christmas JUVY Project Families!

Merry Christmas Everyone! We are so blessed with a generous community donor who dropped off presents for the families in The JUVY Project. What a surprise for these families as they will be opening these gifts on Christmas morning!

But, the greatest Gift of all was from God our Father, Who sent His Son, Jesus Christ! We celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas morning and all throughout the year. Hallelujah!

Luke 2:11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born; He is the Messiah, the Lord.
